Rudder Chaos

I live near Lake Pepin, which is a lake, but also a wide spot on the Mississippi river. I moved here because of the sailing opportunities, and after a few years was able to purchase a 30-foot sloop. Her name is Rudder Chaos, and she’s a 34 year old Chrysler TMI.

The picture at right was taken by Midge Bolt and was used for the first year poster for the Flyway Film Festival, held here in Pepin, Wisconsin, every October. That’s my friend, Andrew, standing on her gunnel, and I’m at the helm. It was a lovely day, although a bit overcast, but the wind was up and we had a grand afternoon sailing back and forth in front of the marina while Midge took a series of great shots of the boat.
